Sleep well my little one

We slowly transitioned Leo from his crib to a twin bed over the last year. From transitioning roles into big brother to potty training, there were so many factors in setting him up for success.

Leo is FINALLY in his twin size bed, and we are almost there with sleeping through the night without a pull-up. We protect our new mattress with an Organic waterproof fitted protector pad, which is comprised of two layers of jersey organic cotton fabric AND an ultra-thin waterproof barrier in the center. The Naturepedic mattress pad features DrySleep™ technology, which effectively blocks liquids from passing through to the mattress.( He also uses an organic cotton pillow from Naturepedic as well)

Some tips when it comes to safe sleep:

  1. Slowly transition from crib to bed: this process went from crib to toddler bed, to twin mattress on the floor, and finally to a twin bed
  2. Maintain your sleep routine through each of the transitions
  3. Children spend 10+ hours of their day on their mattress, be mindful of what your mattress, sheets, mattress pads and pillows are made of. They breathe in the materials as well as come in contact with their skin.
  4. Give them some sort of responsibility for each transition: This was a big one for us successfully getting Leo to sleep on his own in his big boy bed. He now knows how to make his own bed, get ready for bed, and he will even kick-start his bedtime routine on his own some evenings.
Cheers to SAFE. HEALTHY. SLEEP to all!
